What is theONE? — for brand new owners
Plain-language explanation of what theONE does, for someone who just installed it and hasn't started vessel setup.
theONE is a vessel management app for owner-operators and the people who help them run the boat. It tracks maintenance and service intervals, captures observations and issues with photos, plans and runs trips, records the telemetry readings you enter, and stores every document and credential your boat lives by — all on your iPhone.
Everything you enter is saved on this device first. Until you sign in and link the boat under Settings → Account, none of it leaves the device; once you do, the boat's record goes to theONE's own cloud, so your other devices and your crew see the same boat. (Your position does go out for weather, tides and charts — see Where your data lives.) Live telemetry works today through a Wi-Fi gateway on the boat's network.
Steps
-
Start with Vessel Setup
First Launch walks you through naming your boat, picking the make/model, and adding engines and tanks. 5 minutes — set the stage.
-
Then open Mission Control
Mission Control is your home screen. The TODAY chip on Mission Control is the morning brief. The Chart tab is your chart. Trips (open from the ☰ menu) is planning. Stowage is the inventory — Stowed items, Supplies, and Tenders & Toys; everything not on a tab is in the ☰ menu. Your vessel's name sits under the Mission Control title — tap it to open Fleet.
