Tenders & Toys — your toy roster

Where dinghies, jet skis, paddleboards, and other toys live in the app, and how they stay separate from main-vessel systems.

Tenders & Toys is the dedicated home for every dinghy, jet ski, paddleboard, e-foil, SeaBob, wakeboard, kayak, snorkel kit, and towable on board. They stay strictly separate from main-vessel systems — no toy observations, issues, maintenance, or service ever mix into the engine room. Mission Control is for the vessel; toys get their own page. The one place they come back together is Vessel Briefing, which lists everything you own so a captain has a single comprehensive surface to scan.

Steps

  1. Open the roster

Stowage tab → Inventory section → Tenders & Toys. A Type / Status / Location picker chooses how it buckets. On Type, the default, it groups by subtype — Tender, Jet Ski, SeaBob, E-foil, Paddleboard, Kayak, Snorkel Kit, Towables, Wakeboard and Other — and shows only the buckets that have something in them, with three pills at the top counting Total, Need attention (anything down or needing service), and Mechanical.

  2. Add a toy

Tap + on the Tenders & Toys roster. Pick a subtype from the gallery — the subtype sets the icon, fills in a starting name, labels the serial field HIN on a tender or jet ski, and decides whether the Hours section appears. Hours: tender, jet ski, SeaBob, E-foil. No hours: paddleboard, kayak, snorkel kit, towables, wakeboard, other. Service interval (hrs) is a field you type; the subtype fills in nothing.

  3. Open the detail

Tap any row to open the toy's detail — Identity (make, model, and a serial field labelled HIN on a tender or jet ski), Location, Run hours and Service on the hour-tracked types, Work orders, Documents, Observations & issues, Linked spares, and Notes. This is a dedicated layout, not the generic system view, so the affordances fit how toys actually get used.

  4. Attach a document

From any toy's detail surface tap the Documents section + button — or in the Document Vault (menu (☰) → Operational records → Documents) the Add sheet's 'Attach To' picker has a Toys section that lets you bind a warranty, manual, or registration to a specific toy. Documents attached to a toy show in BOTH places: the toy's detail, and Documents → Toys.

  5. Calendar filter

Service events for toys appear in the calendar with a brass ferry glyph in front of the title. The Calendar's 'Toys on/off' filter chip hides them temporarily if you want to focus on vessel-only events for the day.

  6. Where toys also surface

Vessel Briefing — the one comprehensive surface — includes a Tenders & Toys section with a 'See all & manage' link that lands you on Stowage → Inventory → Tenders & Toys. Mission Control shows a Toys bubble for at-a-glance counts. Search results route directly into the toy's detail surface.
