Tank alerts — get pinged before you run dry or fill up

Set thresholds on fuel, water, and holding tanks so theONE warns you before a problem becomes urgent.

Tank Alerts let you set a 'warn me' threshold for fuel, for fresh water and for the holding tank. Fuel below 25%, water below 30%, holding above 75% — pick the numbers that match how you cruise and theONE pings you in time to do something about it.

Steps

  1. Open Tank Alerts

Menu (☰) → Settings → Vessel Setup → Tank Alerts. Three sections show here — Fuel, Fresh Water and Holding Tank. A threshold belongs to the kind, not to a tank, so several fuel tanks share the one Fuel threshold, and there is no section for grey water. There is no Alerts row in Settings — every alert category lives with its own system.

  2. Set a threshold

Each of the three kinds is a section on this one screen. A tank with no threshold yet shows a button — "Configure fuel threshold", and the same wording for fresh water and holding tank. Tapping it creates the threshold at 20% and already switched on. From there the stepper moves the percent one point at a time between 0 and 100, and the "Alert enabled" toggle is there to switch it off again. There is one threshold per kind and no urgent tier, and no Save button — the stepper writes as you tap.

  3. A tank nobody has read does not alert

An alert needs a reading, and something has to check it: thresholds are evaluated when a reading is saved by hand and when a fuel log entry moves a tank level. A gateway streaming tank levels over NMEA refreshes the tiles but does not evaluate thresholds, so nothing fires off the live feed alone. A tank whose sender has never reported, and which nobody has entered by hand, is shown as — and is not on either side of your threshold — so it raises nothing and logs nothing.

A tank you read and found empty is different, and still alerts: 0% you measured is exactly what the threshold is for.

  4. No quiet hours

There are no quiet hours. A tank alert fires as soon as a reading crosses the threshold, whatever the hour, and the notification carries the default sound. Once one has fired, the level has to move back past the threshold by more than 2% before the same tank can fire again.

  5. Where they show up

Mission Control shows the affected tank tile's reading in the alert colour and puts a tappable banner in the stack — "Fuel alert" over "N% — tap to review thresholds" — that opens Tank Alerts and stays until you tap its ✕ or 24 hours pass, and a notification is delivered to the device. Nothing lands on Today — the tank alert log is read only by Mission Control.
