Hour meter alerts — service intervals by engine hours

Get warned when an engine or generator approaches the next scheduled service hour.

Most engines and gensets have service-by-hours intervals. theONE marks a system DUE SOON on screen when it is within 10 running hours of its service interval, so you can book the vendor instead of scrambling, and — with notifications on — sends a notification when it reaches or passes the interval.

TWO THINGS TO DO BEFORE THIS WORKS.

FIRST, TURN IT ON. 'Notify on milestones' is OFF on a fresh install. Nothing is pushed until you switch it on, and switching it on is what asks iOS for permission.

SECOND, GIVE IT THREE NUMBERS. A system is silent until it has current run hours, a service interval, and the hours reading at its last service. Any one missing and it sits under 'Awaiting data' on this screen, saying nothing.

Steps

  1. Open hour-meter alerts

    Menu (☰) → Settings → Vessel Setup → Hour-Meter Alerts.

  2. There are no milestones to add

This screen has no + and nothing to name. It carries two switches and a status list, and that is all.

The interval itself lives on the system: Vessel Briefing → the system → the Service Interval card → Edit. One interval per system, plus the hours at its last service. Separate named jobs — valve adjustment at 500, impeller each season — are work orders raised from the Maintenance tab, each with its own interval.

  3. The warn-ahead window is ten hours, fixed

When a system comes within 10 running hours of its interval it shows DUE SOON, here and on the system's page. That is on screen only: the notification comes when the system reaches or passes its interval, once for each interval it passes. Ten hours is roughly a weekend of running on most power yachts. It is not adjustable — there is no 'warn me when within X hours' setting on this screen or anywhere else.

  4. Logging the service resets the count

Mark the work done and the baseline moves to the reading you logged, so the countdown starts again from there and the warning clears. There is no queue of milestones behind it — one interval per system, counted from the last completion.
