Engine temperature alerts — overheat warnings

Set the temperature where theONE warns you the engine or generator is running hot, before it becomes a haul-out.

Engine Temp Alerts trip a warning when any engine or generator climbs past your set point. Each engine has its own coolant and oil threshold — the port engine can have a different normal than starboard.

Steps

  1. Open the screen

Menu (☰) → Settings → Vessel Setup → Engine Alerts. Every engine and generator you've added in Vessel Setup is listed.

  2. Set thresholds per engine

Each engine is its own section, with a Coolant row and an Oil row — there is nothing to tap into. Tap 'Configure coolant alert' or 'Configure oil alert' to create the rule, then set the one temperature that trips it with the stepper on the 'Coolant threshold' or 'Oil threshold' row. Configuring an alert arms it — the 'Coolant alert enabled' toggle switches it off again, not on. A new coolant rule starts at 220°F and a new oil rule at 250°F, and the stepper moves in 5°F steps between 140°F and 260°F (with Celsius chosen, in whole degrees between 60°C and 126°C).

  3. Manual or live

Without a gateway, telemetry is entered by hand and the alert fires when you save a reading at or above the threshold; it re-arms once the value falls 5°F below it. With a gateway added as a bridge on the NMEA 2000 network, coolant temperature arrives on its own (PGN 127489) and turns the reading red here and on the Mission Control engine tile — but nothing is recorded from it: the Mission Control banner, the 'Last triggered' note and the notification still only fire on a reading you save.

  4. Acknowledge and log

A tripped alert puts a banner on Mission Control — the engine's name, 'coolant high' or 'oil high', the temperature, and 'tap to review thresholds'. Tapping it opens Engine Alerts. The ✕ on the right acknowledges every outstanding engine-temperature alert and clears the banner. Logging an observation is a separate step.
