Enter telemetry by hand — one-off readings
How to log fuel level, tank levels, battery state, wind, engine temps manually.
Until you add a Wi-Fi gateway to your NMEA 2000 network, every telemetry tile is manual entry. That's by design — the app is honest about where its numbers come from. Manual entry is fast: tap the tile, type the number, save.
Steps
-
Tap any telemetry tile on Mission Control
Fuel, water, holding, shore power, batteries, wind, engine coolant, engine oil, swing, heading, stabilizer RPM, windlass — every tile is tappable.
-
You're now in the metric history view
Each tap takes you to that metric's history page — a chart, a list of past readings, and an 'Update reading' button at the top.
-
Tap Update reading
A sheet opens focused on that metric's section, with its value fields and their units. Type the value and tap Save. There is no timestamp field — the reading is stamped with the moment you save it, and a reading cannot be back-dated.
-
The chart updates
The new reading appears as the most-recent point on the chart and as the latest row in the list. The Mission Control tile also updates immediately.
-
Live telemetry, and switching back to manual
Live NMEA 2000 telemetry needs a Wi-Fi gateway on the boat's network. See 'Connect a Wi-Fi gateway' once you're ready to install one. If a gateway is on the network, theONE decodes it and the tiles fill themselves. You cannot type a reading while a live source is selected: the Update reading button and the toolbar + are gone, and the page reads 'Live values come from the Wi-Fi gateway. Switch to Manual on Mission Control to enter readings here.' Tap the Manual chip on the Live telemetry card first if you need to enter one by hand.
-
Transmission temp and pressure, and engines 3 and 4
With a bridge installed, transmission oil temperature and pressure (PGN 127493) now arrive alongside the engine channels, one gearbox per shaft. Engine coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, load and fuel rate now cover engine instances 3 and 4 as well — a genset on a twin-screw boat broadcasts on instance 3, and it was only sending RPM and hours through before.
