The Member Users screen — invites, roles, expiry

Member Users lists every active and pending membership for the active vessel, grouped by role. Pending invites show their 6-digit code so the inviter can read it out.

Open via the menu (☰) → Help & settings → Settings → Member Users. Active members are grouped Owner → Manager → Captain → Crew → Vendor → Guest, and a group with nobody in it is not drawn. Pending invites render with a dashed border and the 6-digit code visible.

Steps

  1. Also the manager

The owner sees Also the manager on a captain's row under On this boat in the cloud. Switched on, that captain is the manager as well: a manager's say on the crew list — who they may invite, remove or give dates to — and the web version of the boat, which is for the owner and the manager. The row reads Captain and manager. Only the owner can switch it, and it ends if the captain leaves the boat.

  2. Access dates

Under On this boat in the cloud, an owner, captain or manager sees Dates on the row of anyone below them. Set a start, an end, or both; +1 day, +7 days and +30 days extend in one tap; switching either off clears it. Outside those dates the person cannot sync the boat at all — the server keeps them off it, not their phone. Someone whose access has ended stays on the list, marked access ended, so you can extend it without a new invite. Remove is still how someone leaves the boat for good. When the dates run out, the boat's records come off that person's phone the next time it reaches the cloud; they can ask you for more time from their Account.

  3. Asks for more time

When someone below you asks to stay aboard longer, it appears above On this boat in the cloud, under Asking for more time: who, the date they asked for, and their note. Approve and their access runs to that date — no new invite; Decline and it stays as it was. You see only the asks from people below you; the owner sees everyone's. Nothing notifies you when an ask arrives, but Settings counts them: while one waits, the Member Users row there reads “1 asking for more time” on a phone linked to the boat. Each ask waits here until you answer it.

  4. Adding someone

Tap + (Invite member) in the top right of the Member Users screen. It is there for an Owner, a Manager or a Captain: a Manager can invite a Captain, Crew, a Vendor or a Guest with no delegation needed, and a Captain can always invite a Guest but needs "Allow this captain to invite crew and vendors" switched on for those two — and still live: a permission that has been revoked, or whose window has run out, no longer counts as on. That switch is this phone's own, on the captain's page (tap the row). It is not May make invite codes on the captain's row under On this boat in the cloud, which is the cloud's and is what the cloud checks before it makes a captain's XXXX-XXXX code; neither sets the other. When this boat is the one linked in Account, the sheet also offers every role the cloud lets you put on a code — a captain the owner made manager as well can invite a Captain, and a captain can make crew and vendor codes, which the server makes only once May make invite codes is on for them. Crew, vendors and guests do not see the button.

The sheet asks for the role first, then a name and, for a code on this phone, an Email (optional). A cloud code carries the role only, so there the name just says who the code is for — the crew list shows the name they put on their own card. Tap Send Invite and the next screen shows the code: six digits for this phone, or an XXXX-XXXX cloud code for their own phone when this boat is the one linked in Account and the role is below yours there (owners always get six digits; a guest's cloud code is for one trip you pick, and their access ends with it). On a cloud code the date under Code expiry is how long the code works, up to 30 days — it does not end their access; set that with Dates once they have joined. If this phone refuses the role you picked, the sheet says so and goes back to the role list.

  5. Pending → Active

A 6-digit code joins someone on THIS phone, through the onboarding "Have an invite code?" door; its pending row records who you've cleared until then. When this boat is the one linked in Account and the role is one your cloud role can hand out (crew, captain, manager or vendor, below your own), Invite makes an XXXX-XXXX cloud code instead, which the person enters on their own phone. A cloud invite adds no pending row here, and this phone's own rows never list them; once they join, they appear below, under On this boat in the cloud. An owner, a manager or a captain sees the cloud codes nobody has used yet in Account, and can cancel one there.

  6. Revoke / Cancel

Swipe an active row to the right for Revoke; on a pending row the same swipe reads Cancel, and its confirmation asks “Cancel the invite for <name>?” with Cancel invite and Keep invite. The last Owner row is protected — you cannot revoke the last Owner. Those rows are this phone's own. Below them, for the owner, a manager or the captain of a boat linked in Account, On this boat in the cloud lists everyone whose own account holds it — crew who joined on their own phones included — and Remove takes someone off (this phone's own rows above are separate and unchanged): they can no longer sync the boat, and the boat's records come off their phone the next time it reaches the cloud (never an owner's phone). Only someone at least as senior as whoever removed them can invite them back, with a new code.

  7. What a row shows

Each row shows a chip with the member's role and one status pill — PENDING on an invite nobody has redeemed, FAMILIARIZATION, BLOCKED, or Active, Expiring or Expired. A pending row also shows its 6-digit code. Tap a row to open the member sheet, where the access, specialty, permission and lifecycle controls live.

  8. Keys

Under On this boat in the cloud, Keys on a person's row opens every key they hold, door by door: what their role gives, what was given or taken away, by whom and until when. It shows only when you may change their keys — the owner for anyone who is not an owner, a manager for people below manager. See Doors and keys.
