When your access to a boat ends — and asking for more time
Access given for set dates stops at the end date, and someone senior can take you off a boat. Either way the boat's records come off your phone; if your dates ran out, you can ask for more time.
An owner, a manager or a captain can give someone access to a boat for set dates, and can take someone below them off it. When your access ends — the dates run out, or you are taken off — the cloud stops sending you the boat, and the next time your phone reaches the cloud it removes the boat's records from the phone. The boat's record is not lost: it stays with the boat, in the cloud and on everyone else's phones. Your sign-in stays. If she was the only boat on your phone, theONE starts again as it did when it was new, so its settings on this phone (appearance, the tours and the rest) go back to how they started; if the phone has another boat, its settings stay as they are. What is yours stays too: your own details, your position and your dates aboard are kept on this device under Account → Service record, for a résumé or the next job.
If that boat was the only one on your phone, the phone goes back to where it started — the welcome screen — with a note at the top saying why. If it had another boat, that one opens. An owner's phone never has its boat removed this way, and a boat you sold stays on your phone as your copy of her record.
Steps
-
See where you stand
Menu (☰) → Settings → Account. Under Your access: any boat whose access has an end date, and when it ends, and any boat your access has ended on, with the date. Nothing shows there for a boat you have no end date on.
-
Ask for more time
If your dates ran out, or are about to, tap Ask for more time, pick the date you'd like to stay until (up to a year ahead) and, if you like, add a line for whoever answers — the trip, the job. Tap Send. The owner, a manager or the captain — whoever is senior to you — sees it in Member Users, on a phone linked to your boat (the Member Users row in their Settings counts the asks waiting), and says yes or no — nothing notifies them, so tell them you have asked; Account shows the ask as waiting until they do. Asking again replaces what you asked. Changed your mind before anyone answers? Withdraw my ask, under the ask in Account, takes it back — you are asked first, and your access stays as it was.
-
When they say yes
Your access runs to the date they chose, you are back aboard in the cloud, and you can link this phone to the boat again from Account.
-
If you were taken off
Asking for more time is not open to you: a removal is a decision. Someone at least as senior as whoever removed you can invite you back with a new code.

Everything of hers goes
Her records, her document scans and manuals, and the photos and voice memos on her legs, jots, notes and playbook runs all come off the phone. A file another boat on the phone still uses stays, for that boat. If theONE can't finish removing her records — a file is busy, say — the note says so, and it goes on removing them each time theONE opens, until they are gone.
Changes you made on this phone that had not reached the cloud when your access ended go with her and are never delivered; the note says how many. Receipts and photos waiting to go up go too, and so do her Boat IT passwords. If she was the only boat on the phone, the events theONE put in the Calendar app for her go as well.
-
A boat you are not looking at
Every boat on this phone is checked, not only the one that is open. When you open Fleet on a phone with more than one boat and you are signed in, theONE asks the cloud about your boats and takes off any you have lost, the same way: your service record first, then her records and files. The boat you were using stays open, unless she is one of them.
-
Your service record
Menu (☰) → Settings → Account → Service record lists each boat you have left: your position, her name and length, and the dates you were aboard. Share for a résumé sends it as text — your licences and certifications from your crew card, never your phone number or health notes. It is kept only on this device and never sent anywhere unless you share it.
