Arrival debrief — what broke, what's low, what to remember

The sixty-second capture on End Trip: three lanes, no mandatory fields. Lines become issues, needed supplies, and jots — all tagged with the leg — when you tap Mark Trip Completed.

The hour after you tie up is when things get logged — or never. So End Trip asks three questions right after Confirm arrival, on one screen, before the tank readings: What broke, What's low and Remember. One line each, as many lines as you want, nothing required. Type what you saw the way you would say it — "Port raw-water pump weeping at the shaft seal" — and tap Next. Nothing typed? Next skips it.

Steps

  1. What broke → an issue

Each line becomes an issue on the Maintenance tab (category Issue, default severity). Add a photo with the same Photo tile you use when logging an observation, and pick the unit from your own systems if you know it — the issue then files under that system and its photos get the unit's zone automatically.

  2. What's low → the Needed lane

Start typing and matches from your stowage appear — tap one and that item is flagged Needed in place. It stays in its locker with its count; it just also shows on the shopping list. Type a name that matches nothing and a new Needed supply is created as typed. Items already Needed, Ordered, or Received are not offered — they are already on the list.

  3. Remember → a jot

Each line lands in your Jot inbox, titled from its first sentence, with the leg linked so you can find it from the trip later. "Ask the yard about the transom crack before haul-out" is the kind of thing that goes here.

  4. When it is saved

With everything else in the wizard: on Mark Trip Completed, before the leg closes, so every record is tagged "Arrival debrief, Leg 2 · Annapolis → Oxford, <date>". The Summary shows what is about to land ("Arrival debrief: 2 issues, 1 supply, 1 note") and the Recent Activity feed shows the same line afterwards. Closing the wizard with debrief lines typed asks before discarding them.

  5. Skipped it? Add one from the Summary

On the last step tap Add a debrief. It opens the same three lanes; Done keeps the lines for the commit, Skip drops them. End Leg (mid-cruise) does not show the debrief — it is for the end of the cruise, not the next anchorage.
