Stowage — where everything lives
Inventory your boat by location.
Stowage is the inventory of every spare, supply, tool, and consumable on the boat, organized by where it lives. 'Two oil filters in the engine room shelf, port side, top'. 'Anchor light bulb in the foredeck locker'. The point is to never search for something twice.
Steps
-
Open Stowage
Stowage tab → Stowed items (under Inventory).
-
Two ways to browse
Locations (engine room, lazarette, foredeck locker, galley, etc.) → drill into a location to see what's in it. Items is the flat, searchable list. Supplies, the third segment, is the shopping list.
-
Add an item
The + at the top of Stowage → Add item. Name (e.g. 'Volvo oil filter'), quantity and unit, category, location, an optional linked system, an optional low-stock threshold, part number and notes. An item has no photo, expiry date or tag field. The + is there for whoever may change stowage — by default the owner, a manager, and a captain whose Captain may edit is on.
-
Search finds it
The global Search includes Stowage items. Type a part number, brand, or any keyword — the item comes back with its location, so you stop hunting.
-
Restock alerts
On an item, switch on 'Track low-stock threshold' and set 'Alert at N or below'. When the quantity reaches that number or drops under it, Stowage shows an 'N items low on stock — Review and restock' banner that opens the list of them — handy for provisioning before a trip.
