Work orders, jobs, and tasks — what theONE calls them
Match the words a captain or vendor uses to the words in theONE.
theONE calls a chunk of maintenance work a "work order". On the Maintenance tab the + in the toolbar opens a sheet titled New work order, the rows land in the Work orders bubble, and the second toolbar button opens the Work Orders screen. Inside that sheet the title field itself is labelled "Task".
A work order can be tied to a unit, so marking it done writes that unit's service history, or left untied for work on the boat as a whole. It can carry an interval in hours or in days, which is how a recurring job — oil change, impeller, zincs — comes round again.
When you assign a work order to a vendor for paid work, the vendor sees that same work order in their session.
Steps
-
See the open work
Open the Maintenance tab — the Work orders bubble holds what is overdue, due in the next 30 days, or has no date on it yet. It shows twelve rows, with a 'See all' link when there are more, and leaves out tender and toy work until you switch on 'Tenders & Toys'.
-
Narrow to a system
Tap a system to see only its work orders — useful when a vendor asks 'what else while I'm in there?'
-
Act on a work order
Tap a work order to log completion, attach a note or photo, or assign a vendor.
