Add a maintenance task
Create a new task — recurring or one-off — on a system.
Jobs are raised from the Maintenance tab, not from a system. Tap the + in its toolbar — the button is New work order — or reach the same sheet from the search box.
The sheet asks for Task, a Department bucket, an optional Unit (the piece of gear the job is about), a Schedule (an interval in hours or days, and an optional next-due date) and a Vendor. There is no priority field.
Setting the Unit matters more than it looks. Marking a job done writes that unit's service history only when a unit is linked, so a generator service raised with no Unit leaves the generator still reading as unserviced. Leave it off only for work on the boat as a whole — bottom paint, a haul-out.
If you're not sure which system a job belongs to, log it as an observation first and convert from there — observation → scheduled service preserves the link to the original note.
No system detail offers one, and the words "Add task" appear nowhere in the app.
Steps
-
Open the Maintenance tab
Maintenance tab → the + in the toolbar, labelled New work order. Typing in the search box reaches the same sheet. You do not open a system first — you pick the unit inside the sheet, if the job has one.
-
Name the job
Type what needs doing under Task — 'Replace impeller', 'Bottom paint'. Then pick the Department bucket it belongs in.
-
Fill it in
Set a Unit if the job is about one piece of gear — that is what lets marking it done write the unit's service history. Then an interval in hours or days (recurring) or a next-due date (one-off), and a vendor if you already know who is doing the work. There is no priority field.
-
Save
Save. The job lands on the vessel Maintenance board under the Department you picked — and in the linked unit's service history too, if you set a Unit.
