Edit vessel specs — engines, tanks, configuration
Change the vessel's underlying setup — engine count and model, generator config, tank sizes — after first-day setup.
First-day setup captures the basics. As you learn the boat (or change it), Vessel Edit lets you adjust engine specs, generator config, tank capacities, and overall vessel info. Existing logs and history don't change — only the boat's profile.
Steps
-
Open Vessel Edit
Menu (☰) → Settings → Vessel Setup → Engines & Tanks (detailed) opens Engine Configuration and Tank Capacities. Vessel Identity does not reach them: its top row opens the vessel editor (name, homeport, dimensions, papers), and Propulsion's Edit opens the Main Engines survey screen, which saves as you go.
-
Engines
Engine Configuration lists the engines on the vessel. Tap an engine to rename it; a newly added engine also takes an optional initial hour-meter reading. Use + and − to change the engine count, up to 12, and drag rows to set the port-first display order — then tap Save. Generators are edited separately, from the Edit link on the Generators section of Vessel Identity.
-
Tanks
Tank Capacities lists fuel, water, and holding tanks. Edit gallons, add a new tank, or rename. Changes apply to future telemetry — past logs keep the value they were saved with.
-
Vessel info
The vessel editor — tap the boat's name at the top of Vessel Identity — holds her name, homeport, length, beam, draft and air draft, her papers and navigation defaults. Hull number and year built are under Hull & Structure in Vessel Setup. There is no displacement field.
-
Air draft and papers
Dimensions now carries Air draft — the height above the water, the number a bridge tender wants. Below it, a Papers section holds the USCG documentation number, state registration, MMSI, call sign, insurance carrier and policy number. All of it shows back on the vessel card.
