Hours Monitor — track engine and generator runtime

Keep accurate run-hour counts so service intervals fire on time and absolute hours never drift from the engine display.

Hours Monitor is the single screen that tells you how many hours each engine, generator, or hour-tracked system has on it right now, when the next service interval fires, and how much running it has done week by week — thirteen weeks of it, not seven days. Set the interval once and the app calculates 'next due' from there.

Steps

  1. Open the screen

Mission Control → Briefing → Hours Monitor. Every engine, generator, and hour-tracked system from Vessel Setup is listed with current absolute hours and time-until-next-service.

  2. Set the service interval — somewhere else

Not from this screen. Vessel Briefing → tap the system → the Service Interval card → Edit. That is the only place the editor opens from.

ONE interval per system — hours between services, plus the hours reading at the last service. There is no list: oil at 250h, impeller at 1000h and a valve check at 2000h are three WORK ORDERS, each with its own interval, raised from the Maintenance tab.

If this screen tells you 'Use Edit System to add the interval and baseline', that is the path it means; there is no link from here.

  3. Log a reading

Tap a system → 'Log Reading'. Two ways in: 'Delta hours' for the hours you ran today, or 'Meter reading' for what the meter says right now. Either updates the chart and the running total. Logging in the same session as the run keeps drift near zero. The button is Log Reading, not 'Log a run'.

  4. When the app and the meter disagree

Use 'Log Reading' → 'Meter reading' and type what the gauge says. That sets the authoritative figure and keeps every earlier entry in the log.

Do NOT reach for 'Log Meter Rebuild' in the Actions card for this. That one is for the owner, or a manager holding Owner authority, and records a PHYSICAL METER SWAP — a new unit fitted, reading from zero — and it deliberately does not reset the cumulative hours the boat has actually run. There is no control called 'Rebuild absolute hours'.

  5. Export the log

On a system's detail screen, Actions → Export Hours CSV. Pick the dates first: the range opens on the last 90 days, so move From back to include older runs; the Rows in window count shows how many will go. Share with your mechanic, your surveyor, or your accountant for the maintenance budget.

  6. Two readings that disagree

A disagreement between two people's meter readings shows on the Hours tile on Mission Control, not only here — a question nobody is told about is a silence with extra steps. Tapping it lands you on this screen, where the three choices live.

The chart under them is thirteen ISO weeks, one bar each, titled 'Last 13 Weeks'. There is no seven-day view.
