Log a fuel stop
Record a fill-up so consumption math works.
Fuel logging serves two purposes: keep your tank gauge accurate, and capture fill-up cost and location for the Logbook and for cost analysis later.
Steps
-
Open Fuel Log
Menu (☰) → Fuel Log — offered to the owner, captain, manager and crew. You see one flat list of past fill-ups, newest first.
-
Tap + Add fuel
Sheet opens, titled New Fuel Entry. Gallons is the only required field — Save stays disabled until it is above zero. Everything else is optional: the date and time, '$ / gallon', 'Engine hours at fill', Marina, a receipt you scan, pick from Photos or import, and Notes. Total is computed from gallons × $ / gallon, not typed.
-
Pick a tank
On a boat with more than one fuel tank the sheet shows a Tank picker, so the gallons are added to the level of the tank you actually filled. A single-tank boat has no picker — the fill goes to the one tank.
-
Save
The new entry appears in the Fuel Log and pushes a tank-level update to your fuel telemetry tile. Mission Control reflects the new level immediately. If the tank you filled has no capacity entered, the save is refused and theONE shows 'Tank capacity needed first' with a link to Set tank capacities — enter the capacity and the same fill lands on its own, with nothing retyped.
-
Gallons or liters
The list reads in the volume unit you chose under Settings → Account → Measurement units: liters, the price per liter and liters per hour (L/h), or gallons, the price per gallon and gallons per hour (GPH). Each fill is kept in US gallons and converted only for what you read, so changing the unit never changes a fill.
-
Who keeps it
Crew see the fuel log and log fills — gallons, the tank, the date and time, engine hours and the marina — and can change or delete only the fills they logged themselves. What fuel costs is for the owner, the captain and the manager: a crew member's New Fuel Entry has no $ / gallon, Total or Receipt, their list shows no prices or receipts, their phone never sends one, and on a signed-in boat the cloud takes them off whatever it sends a crew phone. A vendor or guest is not offered Fuel Log; reached another way, it says it is kept for the owner, captain and manager and the crew, and shows no entries.
