Build a work order from observations
Walk the boat, log what you find, then fold those observations into one work order a yard can act on.
A work order is the container for a job. What makes it useful to a vendor is what you fold into it: the observations you logged while walking the boat, each with its severity, where on the boat it is, and its photos. Add them and they travel with the request — you do not retype anything.
Steps
-
Open the work order
Maintenance — tap the job, or tap + in the top-right toolbar to raise a new one; the sheet that opens is New work order.
-
Or start from one observation
On the full Observations list (if your role may change observations), drag a row to the right and tap Work order (a long drag opens it straight away), or press and hold the row and choose Create work order. New work order opens with the observation's title as the task, and when you save it that observation is already in the scope of work. A drag to the left on the same row offers Resolve.
-
Add observations
In the work order, tap Add to scope of work — it reads Edit scope of work once something is in scope. You get a multi-select list of the vessel's OPEN observations, which you can narrow with the severity chips. Tick every one this job covers.
-
Check the count
The section lists what you folded in, severest first, with a running count of the photos that will ride along. That count is what the vendor will actually receive.
-
Assign a vendor
Send is deliberately disabled until a vendor is assigned, and it tells you so rather than hiding the button.
