Undo — what it catches and for how long
Most deletes can be taken back for 60 minutes, and deleting a second thing no longer costs you the first.
Delete something and a banner appears at the bottom with a countdown. Tap UNDO and it comes back exactly as it was. You have 60 minutes.
On a boat in theONE's cloud the undo travels the way the delete did: a task (with its checklist), a checklist item, a manual, a document or a saved route comes back on your other phones too.
Deleting a second thing no longer costs you the first. Undo keeps a stack. Take back the newest, and the one before it is still there waiting — the banner switches to it, and a small +2 tells you how many are behind the one you're looking at.
The ✕ on the banner means "I meant to do that" for that one action only. Anything underneath stays undoable.
What undo does not cover: removing a photo from an observation goes straight off the record. It asks you first, and the dialog says why — "This one is not covered by Undo — it goes straight off the observation." Calendar events are the other one: deleting one asks you to confirm — "This permanently removes the event from your calendar. This action can't be undone." — and then removes it from your calendar for good, with no banner.
A comm log entry is no longer one of them. The ✕ on an entry now asks "Delete this comm log entry?" first, and the delete it confirms gets the same sixty-minute banner as everything else — it comes back in its own place in the thread.
After 60 minutes an action becomes permanent and the banner goes quietly. The app keeps at most 20 actions in the stack.
Steps
-
Take something back
Tap UNDO on the banner. The record returns exactly as it was — links, photos, notes and all.
-
Keep going
If you deleted several things, undo them one at a time, newest first. The banner shows you what's next.
-
Accept one
Tap ✕. That action stands; anything you deleted before it is still recoverable.
