Edit a playbook — who can change one, and how
Customise any playbook for your boat — including the eight theONE ships with — if you hold the key to write playbooks.
There are no shelves. The Playbook tab is one grid of every playbook on this boat — the eight theONE seeds on a fresh install and anything you add — and any of them can be edited, duplicated or archived by someone who holds the key to write playbooks. By default that is the owner, a captain whose Captain may edit is switched on, and a manager holding Owner authority; the owner, or a manager for keys they hold, can give it to someone else (see Doors and keys). Without it every playbook is read-only to you: a playbook has no ⋯ menu, and the Playbook tab has no + and no Library button.
theONE replaces the seeded playbooks with a newer set only while every playbook on the boat is still curated and unedited. Edit any one of them and that replacement is skipped, so nothing you have touched is overwritten.
Steps
-
Open Playbooks
Playbook tab in the bottom bar.
-
What the Library button is
The Library button in the toolbar does exist — but it opens the CHECKLIST library, a catalogue of reusable checklist ITEMS you can drop into any playbook, filtered by category and position. It holds no playbooks.
-
Work from a copy instead
If you would rather keep the original intact, open the playbook → the ⋯ menu → Duplicate. It proposes '<name> (Copy)'; change the title and save, and the copy sits in the same grid, fully editable. The menu item is Duplicate, not 'Copy to My Playbooks'.
-
Edit a playbook
Open any playbook → the ⋯ menu → Edit. Reorder items by drag, add one with +, remove with swipe, and tap an item to change its text, its position or its schedule — and to save it to the checklist library for reuse.
You cannot attach a photo to a template item; photos belong to a RUN of the playbook, taken as you work through it.
-
Build from scratch
Playbook tab → + . The form asks for a title and a short blurb, who it is assigned to (by role and by person), and its checklist items.
There is no trigger picker — no manual / phase / event choice. Playbooks are started by hand. The model carries a phase field, but it is reserved and nothing in the app sets it.
