What Ask can and can't see

Ask runs on this device. Here is exactly which of your boat's details it is allowed to read, and which it is not.

Nothing you type into Ask leaves this device, and neither does your boat's data.

When Ask uses Apple's on-device model, it is allowed to read eight things about your vessel, and only these eight:

That is the whole list. Ask is not given crew names, guest details or allergies, your documents, anything in the Boat IT vault, your position, where you've anchored, vendor contact details, or your photos. Not because it's asked not to look — because it is never handed them.

When an answer used your boat's numbers, the sheet says so underneath it.

On the help-library path, Ask reads no vessel data at all. It ranks articles that ship inside the app.

If a cloud version of Ask is ever added, it will be able to receive your question and nothing else — that limit is built into how the app is put together, not a promise in a settings screen. You will be told before any version that talks to a server is switched on.
