The Calendar — what's there and what isn't

theONE uses your Apple Calendar — it doesn't have its own.

theONE doesn't store its own calendar — it reads and writes to Apple Calendar via iOS EventKit. Anything you schedule from theONE shows up in your normal Calendar app, and theONE shows your boat-related events back on its own Calendar view.

That includes trips and work orders made on another of the boat's phones, and every work order with a due date: each gets its event on this phone's calendar once it is here.

Steps

  1. Open the Calendar view

Menu (☰) → Calendar. Month grid showing each day with up to three colored stripes for the labels active that day, plus '+N' beneath them when there are more.

  2. Tap a day

Tapping a day opens a page for it, listing that day's events from the one calendar theONE keeps in Apple Calendar. Events in your other calendars — Personal, Work — are not listed. Tap an event to open it.

  3. Why we use Apple Calendar

You already check it. Your family already sees what's there. Adding a parallel calendar in the app would just be one more place to miss something.

  4. No per-calendar toggle

There is no Calendars menu and no per-calendar toggle. The only filter on the screen is the Toys row.

theONE's Calendar shows only the one calendar theONE keeps in Apple Calendar, named for your boat, so no other calendar can crowd it, and hiding calendars in the iOS Calendar app changes nothing here.

  5. Share the boat's calendar

Nobody else sees the boat's calendar until you share it; theONE does not share it for you. When it is kept in iCloud (the Calendar app lists it under iCloud), open the Calendar app, tap Calendars, tap (i) beside your boat's calendar, then Add Person. A calendar kept On My iPhone can't be shared.

  6. When the boat leaves this device

When a boat leaves this device by a clean slate — Start your own boat on the sample boat, or a boat whose access ended while she was the only one — theONE removes the events it put in Apple Calendar for her. The calendar stays, and takes the next boat's name. Deleting your account does not remove them: the boat stays on this device, and so does her calendar.
