Add a NMEA gateway

Get a Wi-Fi gateway onto theONE so the telemetry tiles fill themselves.

Add the gateway as a bridge, then pick NMEA Wi-Fi on the telemetry widget's source row. theONE opens a connection to every active bridge, decodes what comes off it, and publishes the values into the Mission Control telemetry tiles.

On your local network theONE browses for Yacht Devices, Actisense, Maretron and Vesper gateways and for Signal K servers (Garmin and Navico: connect through a supported NMEA 2000 gateway), plus anything advertising plain NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 over Wi-Fi. Digital Yacht's NavLink2 hosts its own Wi-Fi network (DY-NavLink2-XXXX) rather than advertising on yours, so join that network first.

Steps

  1. Power the gateway

Plug the gateway into the NMEA 2000 backbone and confirm your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the gateway (or the gateway's own network).

  2. Open the connection screen

Menu (☰) → Settings → Vessel Setup → NMEA Bridges.

  3. Confirm detection

Back on Mission Control, pick NMEA Wi-Fi on the telemetry widget's source row. The status line under the title reads "NMEA · add a bridge in Settings to go live" while there is no bridge, "NMEA · 1 bridge ready · no data yet" once the socket is up, and "NMEA · 1 bridge live" with the age of the last reading once sentences are decoding.

  4. What a gateway adds

Live decoding. RPM, voltage, tank levels, depth, wind and position arrive from the network automatically and these same tiles go live.
